President Obama has openly
voiced his thoughts on the challenges presented by Islam and ISIS.
Following are several of his statements:
“Now
let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not ‘Islamic.’ No religion condones the killing of
innocents.”
Does ISIL (ISIS) know that? Why, then, does ISIS stand for the Islamic
State of Iraq and Syria?
“I made clear that America is not
– and never will be – at war with Islam…”
Does ISIS
agree with the president’s assessment?
“I know there has been controversy about
the promotion of democracy…let it be clear; no system of government can or
should be imposed upon one nation by any other…”
The president was explaining that a
nation, specifically America,
should not impose democracy on any mid-eastern nation. Does that also mean that Islam should not try
to impose Sharia law in America?
“I
am committed to working with American Muslims…it is important for Western
countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they
see fit…”
Perhaps
the president should ask Britain,
Germany, and France how this
strategy is working out for them.
“I am a Christian…”
By
their fruits you will know them.
President Obama has tried repeatedly to
convince the electorate that he is the most qualified leader with the necessary
skills and wisdom to be the commander in chief of this great nation of over 330
million people.
It appears that he has given little
consideration to God’s sovereignty over all the nations on this planet and that
all national leaders and kingdoms are established by God.
Remember the words given to the Babylonian
king Nebuchadnezzar when he proclaimed his own greatness:
“They shall
make you eat grass like oxen…until you know that the Most High rules in the
kingdom of men…and gives it to whomever He chooses (sets over it the lowest of
men).” Daniel 4:32
Now let’s consider the situation of one of
Israel’s
kings who was appointed by God. Israel at the
time consisted of approximately 4 million people. The king was about 20 years old. His name was Solomon.
When Solomon learned of his appointment,
he humbled himself in prayer.
“Now, O
LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I
am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in…Therefore give to
Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern
between good and evil. For who is able
to judge this great people of Yours?” 1 Kings 3:7, 9
Solomon was well aware of several facts,
i.e. he was in no way qualified on his own merits or wisdom to be king of Israel. He knew he did not possess the knowledge to
discern between good and evil. He
acknowledged that the people over whom he was to rule were God’s people.
He, therefore, asked God to prepare him
for his kingship.
What a difference between Solomon and America’s current
president.
God’s response to Solomon’s request?
“Because
you have asked this thing…I have done according to your words…see, I have given
you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you
before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not
asked: both riches and honor so that there shall not be anyone like you among
the kings all your days.” 1 Kings 3:11-13
Solomon’s priority focused on being
equipped by God to successfully perform that for which God had chosen him to
do. He voiced no concern for personal
advantage, recognition, wealth, or prestige.
Rather he asked only for wisdom with which to rule Israel
according to God’s will.
And so it was, all nations recognized
Solomon as God’s chosen and the wisest and richest man on all the earth.
That
opportunity exists even today for any potential leader of America who
will humble themselves before God Almighty and ask Him for the necessary
qualifications to lead this great nation.
To all 2016 presidential candidates, are
you listening?
It appears, however, that such a king will
not be found until Christ the King of kings returns.
