And Soon There Will Be Ten

Globalism, the concept where the scope of governance transcends national borders and sovereignties, is on the increase. For thousands of years nations have sought to combine resources thinking there was strength and security in numbers. The first recorded example of attempted globalism is found in the early chapters of Genesis.

“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar…and they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.’”
Genesis 11:1-4

God’s plan, however, was for mankind to spread out and cover the whole earth. Therefore, God Himself thwarted their plan for the city and tower and scattered them as nations over the face of the earth.

“So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.”
Genesis 11:8

Subsequent to Nimrod’s early attempt at globalization at Shinar, Biblical prophecy revealed four future global empires that would come and go.

As history unfolded God called a prophet named Daniel to accompany Judah to Babylon where they were deported beginning in the 7th century BC. Daniel subsequently found favor with King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. God would use Daniel to teach Babylon’s king about His sovereignty. Well king Nebuchadnezzar had a very troubling dream which only Daniel could interpret.

“You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.”
Daniel 2:31-33

“This is the dream. Now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom…and has made you ruler over them all – you are this head of gold. But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze…And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron...Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided…so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile…they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay…”
Daniel 2:36-43

Nebuchadnezzar’s dream depicted the four world empires that would rule the world beginning with the gold head representing Babylon. The second was the Persian and Medes, the third was the Grecian, and the fourth would be the Roman Empire. The dream revealed that the final form of gentile world dominion would be brittle, i.e. toes of iron mixed with clay. A significant fact at this point is that the image of the world powers was in the form of a man and had ten toes.

Shortly thereafter Daniel himself had a similar dream.

“…Daniel had a dream…and four great beasts…the first was like a lion…a second, like a bear…after this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard. After this I saw in the night visions…a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong…It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns...and there was another horn coming up among them…and in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.”
Daniel 7:1-8

Daniel’s dream also included four world empires with the fourth or final empire described as a beast with ten horns. This dream corroborated Nebuchadnezzar’s earlier dream. In addition Daniel’s dream introduced the leader of the final ten nations representing the final form of globalism designed by man.

Now fast forward to the New Testament Book of Revelation penned by the Apostle John.

“Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast…having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name…and all the world marveled and followed the beast…and he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies…”
Revelation 13:1-4

The beast is the future Antichrist who will be empowered by Satan as the leader of the final ten nation global confederacy. Notice that Daniel described the leader of the final global effort as having a “mouth speaking pompous words.” John similarly described the Antichrist as having been “given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies…” The ten horns are then explained.

“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.”
Revelation 17:12-13

Now let’s consider some present day happenings. Writing for the Globalist, Lex Rieffel of the Brookings Institution “sees 2010 as an exceptional opportunity for change which could result in the creation of a combined G-8/G-20 Summit in mid-2011. The transition to a lean and well-balanced global summit forum, replacing both the G-8 and the G-20, could then be completed in 2012.”

The proposed more efficient summit forum would consist of ten nations, i.e. France, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, China, India, Mexico, and Russia.

I am in no way suggesting that the proposed ten nation group is the final ten nations referred to in the above scripture passages. However, I am suggesting that such an arrangement is totally within the realm of reality and the mechanisms are in place to make it happen at any time.

Transformation or Conformation

Before something can be transformed, it must first have been formed. Basic definitions of transform include: change in composition, structure, outward appearance, character or condition. Similarly before someone can conform to a concept or premise that concept or premise must first have been established or formed. Basic definitions of conform include: to be in agreement or harmony, to be obedient or compliant.

To begin with God, created, made, and/or formed the earth and its inhabitants. He then established the relationships between man and the rest of His creation, the relationship between man and his Creator, and the relationship between man and his brother. Inasmuch as God created all things He is sovereign over His creation. It was not meant for man to question God’s sovereignty or wisdom.

“…Oh man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why have you made me like this?’ Does not the potter have power over the clay…?”
Romans 9:19-20

Remember when Job questioned God’s wisdom and God replied to Job thusly:

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.”
Job 38:4

God likewise formed, established, and chose Israel to illustrate the above mentioned relationships, particularly the intended relationship between man and his God.

“But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.’”
Isaiah 43:1

“Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him."
Isaiah 43:7

“For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth…Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.”
Deuteronomy 7:6, 11

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessing shall come upon you…”
Deuteronomy 28:1-2

“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you…”
Deuteronomy 28:15

God established Israel to be an example to all the nations and gave them explicit instructions outlining what He expected of them and furthermore detailed the consequences of their choices. They were expected to conform to His commandments and statutes.

Israel, however, thought they knew better. They began to reform and transform the instructions God had given them. The Bible is filled with pleas from God to Israel to return to His original plan for them. Conformation to His original plan would restore Israel to their intended standing with their Creator. God knew what was best for Israel and any deviance from His plan would reduce Israel’s effectiveness and blessings.

“Remember these, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you…you will not be forgotten by Me! I have blotted out…your transgressions… Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
Isaiah 44:21-22

“If you will return, O Israel…And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, then you shall not be moved.”
Jeremiah 4:1

“It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may return from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”
Jeremiah 36:3

“Now, therefore,” says the LORD, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness…”
Joel 2:12-13

“For I am the LORD, I do not change…Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them.. Return to Me, and I will return to you...Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him…”
Malachi 3:6-7, 18

“I blasted you with blight and mildew…I sent among you a plague after the manner of Egypt…I overthrew some of you, as…Sodom and Gomorrah…yet you have not returned to Me, says the LORD. Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel…Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”
Amos 4:6-12

The prophet Isaiah summed it up very well for Israel.

“And you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth…”
Isaiah 51:13

The Hebrew word for forget in the above passage means “to be oblivious from want of memory or attention.”

The New Testament recognizes the same potential hazard with the church.

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.”
2 Thessalonians 2:15

“But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of… and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise…”
2 Timothy 3:14-15

Therefore, when the president of the United States proclaims that he will “fundamentally transform America” it should cause every citizen to pause and consider what that means and determine for themselves if that is really the best course for this blessed nation.

In other words, is America’s future best served with leaders that are transformers or conformers?

Progressivism and the Bible

Anyone who has been exposed to the media recently has probably heard or seen the term ‘progressive’ used in the context of political affiliation or ideology. In the political and social context progressivism is associated with change or reform. It re-emerged as a very popular concept in the late l9th and early 20th century as a means to improve the social environment to keep pace with technological changes being experienced in industry and large corporations.

The basic concept of progressivism, however, has roots dating back to the Renaissance. Contrary to widely held Christian beliefs that mankind was struggling and was destined for a transitory journey on earth ending in judgment, philosophers advanced the idea that there was no reason that mankind shouldn’t enjoy a better quality of life here and now. Later thinking even referenced Darwin’s thoughts on biological evolution to justify social improvement. “And as natural selection works solely by and for the good of each being, all corporeal and mental environments will tend to progress towards perfection.” That school of thought fostered the idea that continual social progress would result in social perfection. The subsequent implication was the world was becoming a better place, a thought found nowhere in the Bible. If that were true there would be no book of Revelation.

Progressivism at the time of the industrial revolution in the United States embraced and pursued the idea of social justice, and justice for all. Proponents believed government should level the playing field for everyone. As such, progressives today typically support organized labor and trade unions, believe in and promote a minimum wage, and would support such issues as a universal health care system. This ideology promotes the redistribution of wealth via a progressive income tax system.

Progressivism is typically associated more closely with liberalism than conservatism. This association is readily observed when considering several definitions of liberalism.

• A political ideology espousing personal freedom attained by progress and reform
• A political philosophy promoting individual liberty attained by governmental intervention
• A political orientation favoring social progress by reform and change

In the same manner, progressivism conflicts with many of the philosophies of conservatism. Partial definitions include:

• A political term from the Latin conservare meaning to save or preserve, i.e. the preservation of traditional values
• A political philosophy favoring limited government
• A political preference for gradual development to abrupt change

Recent Gallup polls indicate that twice as many Americans consider themselves to be conservative rather than liberal. The actual polling results show conservatives 40%, liberals 20% and moderates 36%.

When campaigning for president in 2008 the major campaign issue for Barack Obama was ‘fundamental change’ of how America functions. While typically the campaign message for conservative candidates is, “We need to get back to the basics. We need to return to the principles on which this nation was founded”

Once again the Bible is not silent on the topic. Solomon wrote:

“My son, fear the LORD and the king; Do not associate with those given to change; For their calamity will rise suddenly…”
Proverbs 24:21-22

For those who believe the Bible it is very clear that God outlined His plan for mankind and described in great detail how man was to act towards his Creator, towards one another individually, and toward others corporately. The Bible also states clearly that God will hold all men accountable for how they receive and obey His instructions. The benchmark for the future accounting is still the Bible. The benchmark hasn’t changed; therefore, according to the Bible God will have no tolerance for those who have ‘reformed’ His instructions in the name of progress to accommodate contemporary special interests where such changes violate His original instructions.

“You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it…” Deuteronomy 4:2

“Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.”
Proverbs 30:6

The New Testament reveals that Christ has been appointed to be the Judge over the earth.

“…God…now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man (Jesus) whom He has ordained…”

Acts 17:31

And Jesus doesn’t change.

“You LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not fail.”
Hebrews 1:10-12

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

And finally at the very end of the Bible are the words that summarize the fate of those who would add to or delete from God’s word. Jesus, the Judge states:

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life…”

Revelation 22:18-19

Therefore, you decide. Will those who attempt to legislate ‘progress’ by compromising God’s laws to meet the desires of the current generation prosper, or will those who strive to return to the basics fare better.

Meet Dalia Mogahed

On January 22 the Progress published a very interesting column entitled, ‘More bias in US against Muslims than other faiths.’ It was written by an AP columnist and provided details from a study depicting how many Americans perceive the religion of Islam. The referenced study was “part of a project on finding ways to increase understanding between Americans and Muslims.” The study was spearheaded by the executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, i.e. Dalia Mogahed.

Mogahed, herself a veiled Muslim, considers her role to “convey the facts about what Muslims think and feel…offering the voices of the silenced majority of Muslims in America and around the world.”

Bias was the subject of the January column cited and the word ‘prejudice’ appeared nearly a dozen times in the column. Now bias and prejudice are nearly synonymous. Both imply feelings that are preconceived without just grounds or before gaining sufficient knowledge, or “an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, or a race, because of their supposed characteristics.” Mogahed very correctly states “…the need for better education on what Islam teaches.” She did, however, offer several either very naïve or knowingly misleading conclusions relative to the study. “Respondents who say they attend religious services more than once a week are significantly more likely to have a favorable view of Muslims…people who are more religious generally consider prejudice a moral evil and often have respect for the devout of other faiths.”

Mogahed recently appeared on a British TV program hosted by a Muslim group that believes in the non-violent destruction of Western democracy and the creation of an Islamic state under Sharia law encompassing the entire world. Mogahed is herself a proponent of Sharia law and is quoted as saying, “I think the reason so many women support Sharia is because they have a very different understanding of Sharia than the common perception in Western media. The majority of women around the world associate gender justice, or justice for women, with Sharia compliance. Part of the reason that there is this perception of Sharia is because Sharia is not well understood and Islam as a faith is not well understood.”

She omitted to mention Sharia also covers penalties set by the Koran and other teachings of Mohammed which include death by stoning for adultery and the removal of a hand for theft.

She was also interviewed by Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, one of the most influential clerics in Islam who openly supports Palestinian suicide bombings and the total destruction of Israel. Al-Qaradawi is very active in the Muslim Brotherhood which is the parent organization of several radical Islamic organizations including Hamas and al Qaeda.

In this interview Mogahed is quoted as saying, “Muslim concerns over injustice have been largely dismissed by the previous (Bush 43) administration…The US must hear mainstream Muslim concerns even if America does not agree with their perceptions. Muslim Americans are also worried about racial profiling…and the erosion of civil liberties.”

When asked about the rising Islamphobia in America, she replied:

“Islamphobia in America is very real. This presents a grave danger to America as a whole. I am very proud of the progress America has made…as it relates to the relationship between blacks and whites…The marriage that produced our president was illegal in Virginia when he was born…Last year, Obama became the first Democratic Presidential candidate in decades to carry Virginia. We are a stronger and smarter nation because of this growth. Our next growth spurt will be in ridding our society of anti-Muslim prejudice.”

Finally she was asked about what she thought Muslims themselves need to do.

“The best thing they can do to strengthen America is to become fully engaged in writing its next chapter by getting involved and feeling a strong sense of ownership for the future of their country.”

If you haven’t figured it out by now, you may be surprised to learn that Dalia Mogahed is the adviser on Muslim affairs at the national level appointed personally by the one who refers to himself as Barack Hussein Obama.

Now we can summarize her political strategy.

Mogahed’s statement that Muslims can strengthen this country by getting involved and feeling a strong sense of ownership for America’s future is an understatement at best on her behalf and a veiled threat at worst to America.

Her statement boasting about Obama’s win in Virginia obviously happened prior to Virginia’s recent gubernatorial election where Obama personally campaigned for his party’s candidate who subsequently lost to Bob McDonnell, the republican candidate.

While the openly declared objective of Islam in America is essentially imperialistic, Mogahed characterizes their plight as a civil rights issue and as such is suggesting that Muslims be awarded protected status. She and many others claim that Muslims in America are victims instead of villains. Her entire argument reeks of political correctness and should be categorized as propaganda.

Inasmuch as the majority of Americans are still Christian, their handbook is still the Bible. Mogahed’s religion whose major prophet was Mohammed emerged after the Bible was completed. Muslims claim their origin was with Ishmael even though God had resoundingly rejected him in favor of Isaac as the one to receive the promise made to their father Abraham.

Jesus Himself warned of such as Mohammed and his religion.

“And Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”
Matthew 24:4-5

“…For false christs and false prophets will rise… to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.”
Matthew 24:24-25

The freedoms still available in this great country will allow the ‘religious’ and politically correct to espouse Mogahed’s position while Christians with their Bibles will discern and reject her ramblings.
